As a personal trainer and massage therapist I value the body and how it functions immensely. Our bodies weren't made to just have large muscles and look great. I believe our bodies were meant to be fit and functional; as a result you will have a toned, lean and athletic looking body. For this reason my training program with clients involves aspects of many training modalities, such as yoga, Pilates, core and balance movements, resistance and cardiovascular work to create a fully functional, fit, athletic and toned body. These styles of training will not only cause weight loss, shave inches off specific target areas and give you more energy, but over time you will notice improved posture, a reduction in injuries from traditional training and unexpected mishaps as well as feel more connected with your body. I incorporate as much functional training as possible into the workouts which translates to more strength for everyday tasks, i.e., lifting heavy boxes, carrying groceries and simply getting in and out of your car. If you happen to be a sports enthusiast professionally or as a weekend warrior, you will enjoy an enhanced level of performance. As a trainer I feel so fortunate to do what I do everyday and to have the opportunity to impact people's life in a positive way.
 
I always want to see my clients push a little farther than they could have on their own and in that regard I am relentless. Funny how they always thank me, of course after a few choice words for me! Finally, my goal with each client is to let him or her experience a new way to enjoy the body they have and ultimately reach all their health and fitness goals.
When I work with someone who is new to exercising or has a lot of weight to lose, sometimes the best thing I can do as a trainer is just give them the motivation to want to move their bodies and be there to make sure they do. The name of my company, Mobile Fitness & Massage represents a philosophy I believe very strongly in…and that is, just Get Mobile , Get Moving! Do something active and the results will follow. The idea is that activity breeds more activity. If we just walk a few steps or lift a few reps or pedal a few strokes invariably we start feeling better and we want to continue doing whatever it is that gives us that feeling! I love working with new people because it's so rewarding to see the changes that occur mentally and physically as their bodies begin to transform!
Additionally, as a licensed massage therapist I specialize in Deep Tissue, Sports and Swedish massage. I find that offering massage/bodywork to my training clients is quite helpful in keeping them on the road to their fitness goals. Often when we undertake a new exercise program the mind is willing and eager to come along but the body lags a bit behind. The aches and pains that we all experience from workouts can make quitting very appealing. With a professional masseuse at your door once a week quitting becomes less appealing. It also gives me information on a client's body alignment, muscle imbalances and helps me identify areas of concern to be sensitive to during workouts. I work with people of all shapes and sizes with many varying issues: chronic pain, muscles soreness, scar tissue and post injury rehab. I believe our bodies are amazing machines but as such we must make sure to give them regular “tune-ups”.
